Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to gain experience, meet new people and learn new skills. It also goes hand in hand with gaining qualifications, as you can use your new skills and knowledge in a practical setting.

Volunteering and Training together can make you much more employable and increases your future prospects.

Please see below for opportunities that are currently available (Use the 'Volunteering Enquiry' form to enquire about a placement):

Placement:           Studs Football Club 
Details: Studs Football Club are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable coach to join their coaching team. Full support and encouragement would be given to the applicant, as well as the opportunity to gain FA coaching badges (if not already acquired).  
Role: Coaching Academy Coach (6 + 7 Year Olds) 
Venue: Winstanley Community College 
Day / Time: Saturdays (Time Flexible) 
Regularity: Weekly 
Requirements:  An FA Coaching badge is desirable but not essential 

 


Placement:           Studs Football Club 
Details:  Studs Football Club are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable coach to join their management team. Full support and encouragement would be given to the applicant, as well as the opportunity to gain FA coaching badges (if not already acquired).    
Role:  Under 9's Manager
Venue:  Home Matches @ Winstanley Community College (Away Matches Vary) 
Day / Time:  Saturday Mornings  
Regularity:  Weekly 
Requirements:  FA Coaching Badge and own transport would be desirable but not essential

 


Placement: Braunstone Sports Festival
Details: The Braunstone Sports has been running for 4 years now and runs alongside the Braunstone Community Carnival. Its aim is to showcase local sport and physical activity services by providing taster sessions and information.
Role: Numerous; including assisting coaching delivery, planning, admin and other general duties
Venue: Fullhurst Community College
Day / Time: TBC
Regularity: One-Off Event
Requirements:      None; however a sporting qualification would be beneficial

 


Placement: Crown Hills Community Gym
Details: Crown Hills community gym is looking for qualified volunteers who would like to gain experience of working in a gym environment.
Role: Gym Assistant
Venue: Crown Hills Community College
Day / Time: Saturdays (10.00am - 1.00pm)
Regularity: Weekly
Requirements:      Must have (or working towards) a Gym Instructors qualification

 


Placement: Braunstone Grove
Details: The Braunstone Grove deliver a number of sports sessions to local primary schools, as well as community sessions. These include multi-sport and sports specific sessions and are run during the day and in the evening.
Role: Assistant Coach
Venue: Braunstone Grove (Multi Use Games Area)
Day / Time: Various (Daytime and Evening)
Regularity: Weekly
Requirements:      None; however a coaching qualification would be beneficial
