Job Description To deliver high quality sessions on the ‘Activate-Us’ project, which aims to improve participation in sport and physical activity in the Braunstone and Rowley Fields area. This will involve practical coaching delivery of sessions and working with the local community to increase and raise awareness of the importance of sport and physical activity.
Responsible to b-active Manager
Salary £17,048 (Pro-Rata for Part-Time)

1 x Full-time post at 37 hours per week

1 x Part-time post at 16 hours per week

Contract Length 3 year post (In line with project funding)

Activate-Us Project

The Activate-Us project is a brand new community-led initiative funded through Sport England and National Lottery money, with an aim to increase participation within the Braunstone and Rowley Fields area by delivering accessible and informal sport and activity sessions.

The project will offer a variety of activities, such as Zumba and Walking Football, in locations around the targeted areas, such as Braunstone Park and Braunstone Leisure Centre; with a particular emphasis to get residents active at least once a week.

The Post

The Project Activators will play a crucial role within the project, as ultimately you will be our face to the community. You will be tasked with delivering the projects sessions and activities, which will include a range of activities and sports, and will need to play a key role in ensuring that we are getting as many residents as possible involved. 

You will also need to liaise with key partners and local community groups, to ensure that we are maximising the projects reach and are offering participants a wide range of opportunities. (Please refer to the post’s Job Description for more details)

Post Requirements

This post requires someone who has at least 2 years’ experience of delivering sports and/or fitness activities, ideally within a disadvantaged area. They must be qualified to and NGB and/or Fitness Level 2 standard or above and hold at least two sporting / fitness qualifications. Due also to the nature of the role, the candidate must possess great ‘people’ skills, be highly motivated and be able to communicate with a range of people at different levels.
